Full Day Mombasa City Tour with Lunch
Trip begins at 9.00 am. Mombasa offers a diverse cultural history. The City traces many of its cultural traditions to former Portuguese, Arab and British settlers - all of which have left a lasting influence on the City's food, architecture, and people. A visit to the old town, Hindu Temple, the outside of the Fort Jesus, Akamba Carvers and the Market place is essential. Lunch follows at around 12.30 pm, thereafter you depart for the Haller Park, this is a nature trail where old quarries were rehabilitated to form a habitat for different species like Hippos, tortoise, giraffes, antelopes, fish, reptiles and an array of birdlife. Return to your hotel at around 5.30 pm.
Mombasa by night
Trip begins at sundown at around 6.00 pm on a Dhow cruise with a view of the Old port from the water. This will be followed by a walk through the Old Town then onwards to the old Fortress of Fort Jesus. Built by the Portuguese the ancient Fort is an example of 16th century architecture. The highlight of the evening is a stunning sound and light show and dinner served under the stars within the ramparts of the old Fort.
